two cents
On October 27th, we had the first day of summer in Auckland. And on that summer day, I shot my very first wedding.
With hot weather, gorgeous surroundings and a happy, loving couple - the butterflies disappeared from my stomach and started flapping their wings in the backyard instead. I can't imagine a better way to enter the wedding photography business, and I have Vinita and Dirk to thank for that.

This summer, something amazing happened. Lauren Cooper, one of my very closest friends, was getting married in Minnesota--to her (now) spouse, Jesse Jerle. Together with their incredibly generous parents, the two of them hosted a wedding party at Lauren's partents' farm. Preparations had been going on for a year prior to the wedding. The whole barn, where they used to keep hens and sheep, was rebuilt to become the most beautiful two-floor banquet hall. There was a bar built. They had wishing trees. Great amounts of food. Well-aware details everywhere. They even had horses for the big entrance. All in all, it was a very American experience.
